I lived in Keflavik, Iceland for two years. In my experience most of the people in Iceland do speak English and it’s a good thing because, the Icelandic language is a difficult one a grasp.
You will love Iceland! The grass is as green as a picture on a post card and so is the water.
I would visit Geysir, Gullfoss and the Blue Lagoon. We went on a tour and were able to go out through the country-side and see the glaciers and the sheep farms. It is so beautiful!
I also took a tour of a wool factory and bought myself a fabulous wool sweater. The sweaters are made very well and will last for years and years. I’m sorry but, I can not remember the name of the factory.
If you ask the concierge at your hotel they might be able to tell you some more things that I have forgotten.
Make sure that you bring plenty of warm clothing and dress in layers. It gets quite cold there and the wind always blows.
Check out the website below it has some really good ideas of places to go and a lot of information on Iceland in general.
