    you don’t need a passport within the European Union countries. they have this alternative type of ID which isn’t quite a passport, but it’s only valid within the EU. outside the EU you need a passport. also, if you’re not a european, you need a passport to travel from say, france to germany.

    People need ID to travel within Europe and if you’re non-European you still need to show a passport. Do you really have a point here?

    Not everyone is happy about it, according to the posts I see. However, Europe is not a huge geographical area. They are very clear on their boundaries, they have just moved them outwards, in some regards.
