How are you finding it hard to find this info online?

    1) http://www.google.com
    2) Search the terms “buy plane tickets”
    3) Click on results and research.

The price of airline tickets are far from static. You can have a flight where no two people pay the same price. For Trans-Atlantic flights the range is usually 600 to 2000, however, you could sometimes find 200 dollar flights from DC to London or Paris. I’ve heard Iceland Air advertise that you can fly to Europe and stop in Iceland for no additional cost, but like anything, the Airlines have all sorts of strings to the bait and switch prices that they advertise on the radio. You almost have to be as careful not to get tricked with additional fees that you pay before the flight such as baggage and boarding pass fees. Sorry that I don’t have a good answer for you, but there is no good answer.

It’s difficult to answer without knowing when you’re going,

I would suggest you look at sites like
    http://en.momondo.com/Default.aspx
if you type in what airport you want to go from and to and departure and return date, it will check flight prices from hundreds of different sites and compare th prices. They also have price calendar so you can compare different dates. This should give you an idea of the prices
