You can ask it to any mobile phone store in Turkey and they will help you. But basically yes, you can buy a Turkish SIM card and use your phone in Turkey. However you may need some “un-locking” of your phone but you can have it done easily.

Your phone will work no problem in Turkey for a few weeks.
If you are staying for a month or more, then your phone will stop working after a while. To avoid this, you just register your phone at the airport when you arrive. You then have to show the phone when you leave the country.
the cheapest and best tariff for a short term visitor is Turkcell tariff, where you load up units. But in rare circumstances you may have to unlock your phone first: last week a Dutch friend of mine had a problem because his phone had been bought from Vodaphone. He had to get a vodaphone shop to unlock the phone first, then it worked with the Turkcell SIM card. One shop said 40 TL, he then found one that did it for 10 TL.
