I seriously doubt it. Here is a web-site that might help you out.

Requirements state that you must be able to prove your identity and citizenship at the border. So you must have something that proves that both you and your baby are US citizens. That is either a passport, naturalization certificate, voter’s registration card or birth certificate. As I assume your baby does not have the first three (especially not a voter’s card) that leaves us with the birth certificate.
This is what I like to call the academy answer. There is also the real life answer. Is it possible that the officer will take pity for the four month old as long as you can prove citizenship? Very likely. Is it also possible that the officer will go by the letter of the law, also a yes (especially if they are new). There are over 20,000 CBP officers and everyone thinks different.
There are two other things to think about. It is always of interest when one parent is leaving the US with a child, especially a baby. If possible you will want to have a note from your spouse saying he is aware and knows you are traveling international with you child (notarized is best). Also, I am only talking about the US side of the equation, you also need to get into Canada. All things being equal, you should probably wait to get a birth certificate. Maybe give the office of vital statistics a call to see if you can expedite.

NO you have to prove the baby is yours, you might even run into difficulties even if you arent allowed into Canada because the border is critical in abductions and catching the abductors

You need that birth certificate ABD You must also have a signed notarized letter from the other parent to take a baby across the border. Canada and the U.S. are VERY picky about this. Now, about that birth certificate. Four months is a looooong time. In some places, birth certificates are not automatically mailed to you. When people don’t know that , they wait and wait. You can call the maternity ward where you delivered, speak to the unit secretary there, ask if birth certificates are automatically mailed to parents in your county…or if you have to call or go to the right office to request one. That unit secretary is likely the one who collects the info and sends it in to the state, so she will know the answer and exactly where in your community you need to call about getting a copy of the birth certificate.

Are you kidding me? Let a child into a foreign country without a birth certificate? Just sit there a moment and think about how insane that sounds. It could be ANYBODY’S kid. You could’ve found the kid at the mall, and imagine telling the customs officer “Seriously, Officer, it’s my child, but, no, I can’t prove it.”
I’d be seriously disappointed in Canada and the U.S. if you were able to just wander over the border with no I.D. for a child.

Nope. You need to have some state or federal issued ID for the baby otherwise they will not let you thru and they might even detain you.
I mean think about it, you’re traveling alone with a baby without any ID for the baby. How would they know if the baby is kidnapped or not.
