Can electronic equipment from North America be used in Romania?
Posted on 08. Feb, 2010 by admin in Europe
I’ll be traveling to Romania (East Europe) in a few days from the US and was wondering if I can use my computer and camera over there, that is, if I’ll be able to charge them. (Would I need some sort of converter?) Thanks for the info.

yes you can use them over in europe. you will need a converter due to most europe electronics use 220v, and as you know we use 110v.

In Romania (Europe) the voltage is 220 V, you need an adaptor because in US you use 110V.
My advice is to buy an adaptor from the US; my guess is that in Romania you will spend a lot of time searching for one.
Also in Romania (Europe) we use PAL/SECAM television and camera system, while in US you use NTSC. So it is possible that you won`t be able to play your camera and watch what you filmed on a regullar Romanian (Europeean) tv set.
It is possible that in big hotels, like Hilton, Marriott, you will find 110/220V sokets and multisystem tv sets, but my advice is to buy a good adaptor just in case, and maybe you can play your camera on your computer.
